Monday morning, we were back to walking regularly and watching what we
eat. By Monday afternoon, we were off the wagon eating treats from the
sisters luncheon. Doesn't take much to tempt us! There were 30 in attendance at the sisters luncheon. The sister trainer leaders spoke as did President and Sister Carter on our value and worth as daughters of God. There was a take away lunch of
pasta salad, croissant, box drink, cupcakes. We had a goodie exchange,
you bring 24 of something and take 24 samples of what others brought. We each received a purse that Sister Carter made and the talks were on the purse
contents. Inside were a little boulder, tissues, whistle, book mark, and
all related to spiritual things having to do with worth of women .
Tuesday was hectic! I'm trying to train, Sister Hannan is trying to BE trained, plus keep up on referrals and ordering, and there are a million interruptions a day! Elder Lunt is feeling pressure about the Christmas DVD and needed to spend a.lot.of.time. to finish. Carters fly to Alice and Darwin next Tuesday 9 Dec so everything must be completed and wrapped by then!
We learned the Carters want the DVDs in clear cases and office works has only 200 in the state, but none in Adelaide. We ordered out of Sydney, but it will take a few days for delivery! We are praying it all works out according to our timetable needs. This is week 3 already and Lee and I both feel behind.
Wednesday morning training plans went went out the window when President called to say they needed 'HE IS THE GIFT' DVD mailed to outlying areas THAT very day! Sister Hannan had them all made and labeled, but they still had to be put in the sleeves, counted and divided by zones, and mailed. Then she went to work on labels for the Bible videos and Christmas DVD and the new printer, copier, scanner, and fax kept jamming! She called a rep and they sent a service man immediately and after working for an hour, he determined the paper is too thick for this machine to accommodate. What?? Who knew there are different paper thicknesses for different brands of DVD labels!
Anyhoo, we pulled an old printer from storage and put it back to work making the labels. We had the 4 Christmas DVD making people in the office and then Sister Moss and her companion came in to use a computer for last minute editing of the Christmas fireside video clips. It was like grand central for awhile and Elder Lunt put in a really long day and didn't leave until we forced him out at 5:40 pm. We previewed the pictures/music together and I had tears and goosebumps it was so good! (4 eyes are better than 2 for spotting duplicate pictures or two of the same person one after another)
Lee finished the working with children applications, sent mailings mentioned above as well as the regular mailing, made a trip to the bike shop, emailed the next transfer bike order after going through the files for each persons height and weight, completed a run to Office Works, answered phone calls, worked on a phone dropped into water, called the internet provider to finalize service stoppage, and straightened the storage shed etc. All in a day's work! No wonder we are tired every night!
Thursday and Friday were spent working on DVD labels, indexes for the Bible videos DVD and Mormon Messages DVD, and inserting both onto envelope or case, and gluing or taping. Sister Hannan worked on the label designs and has the patience of a saint! Elder Lunt spent long hours both days on pictures and music. We got home at 6:15 pm Thursday.
Friday while we were at lunch, Sister Carter came to the office to say we are having a mission tour
by Elder Haleck and his wife, 11 Jan 2015. Sister Carter discussed with Sister Hannan what all she needs help with for the visit and will send it in writing so we can get started organizing. It's funny to think we won't be here then.
Sister Hannan left the office at 4:30 Fri for a haircut apptointment. Elder Lunt was back working on the DVD. Lee and I went to the temple and when we came back by the office to pick up our computer after 7:00, the office was locked but the lights were on. We grabbed the computer and cords, turned out the lights, and went home. A short time later, Elder Lunt called and wanted to come over for a few minutes to do one last thing before letting it download over night. They had been over at the chapel practicing for the Christmas fireside.
Lee promised to have the computer back to the office at 10:30 Sat morn so they could continue working. We checked in periodically through the day as did the Hannans, only to find President and the assistants had suggested some improvements. No surprise said improvements didn't go without a hitch, and finally at 6:30 pm, the assistants, with Elder Lunt showed up at our door with the computer, cords etc. IT IS FINISHED!
Elder Fepulea'i brought his torn suit pants over to be mended that night please and slipped in another pair that need work. I decided to do both pairs then and there and finished at 8:00. They picked them up early Sunday morning hanging from my front door.
Can you believe it is Fast Sunday again? With it being the MPC weekend (area youth working with real missionaries for a day and a night) I thought the youth would take up much of the testimony time, but not so. Some youth did bear their testimony, but it was a normal monthly meeting. As usual, Lee and I are fasted and prayed with a purpose for a specific concern in our personal life and we appreciate the spiritual strength and comfort we gain! Fasting and prayer are a great source of power and we are blessed when we choose to live the law of the fast.

Sunday evening was the Christmas missionary fireside and included all of the missionaries in the three surrounding stakes, plus youth that participated in the Missionary Preparatory Conference.
Sister Carter was the narrator, with music, and video presentations. The program lasted an hour and it totally focused on Jesus Christ! We were very proud of all of the missionaries whom we love so much! I do not worry for the future of the church with good young men and young women such as these as our up and coming leaders. The program was fabulous and included two videos you will enjoy....even if you've already seen them, they are worth viewing again since they remind us WHY we celebrate the holiday and help us feel the spirit of the season.

Just as we were leaving for the fireside, the assistants called to come
to the church early for an assignment. I videoed the program and Lee did
the audio recording. All I had to do was turn it on and off, but I
quite enjoyed the zooming in and out etc. Sister Moss and Sister Carter
did a wonderful job organizing the whole program and one couldn't help
but feel the spirit! It was a BEAUTIFUL end to the Sabbath day and a
BEAUTIFUL beginning to the holiday season.
