In preparation for next weeks office training at the MTC, I emailed
President Carter to determine our specific office assignments. He
responded by saying until mid September, we will be in Mount Gambier, a city
of 25,000 people, working in a small ward as member and leader support
missionaries.
Mount Gambier is approx 280 miles from Adelaide and 270 miles from Melbourne. It is known for Blue Lake, a popular tourist destination. We were told at the MTC by a senior missionary that served in Australia as a young Elder, that Mount Gambier is also known for opal mining.
We are happy to have the opportunity for both types of assignments. Nothing is in stone it seems and things could change again before we get there :-) We are happy to serve where we are needed.
