Fires.

Some of you have written concerned about the fires in Australia. We are in Adelaide, South Australia, one of the 6 mainland states in this vast country. There are several  territories and islands as well. Australia is the 6th largest county in the world, has three time zones, and is the smallest continent in the world.

The forest fire you are hearing about on the US National News is near Sydney, the capital of New South Wales and most populous city in the country, and is approximately 900 miles from us. We don't have TV or radio, so weren't even aware of the Australian fires until my dad asked me about it during our FaceTime chat last weekend.

There are several fires at this time in Australia, and a state of emergency has been declared in New South Wales. If the weather in Sydney is anything like we are having today in Adelaide, it will not be helpful to their cause. It's been extremely windy with only a couple of rain showers all day.

Our prayers are in behalf of any who are mourning loss of life or property, and those who are fighting the fires. Thank you for your concern and support.
